The Very Small Business Blog helps owners, employees, and advisers succeed while having a positive effect on the world. I believe that when people work together they can make their towns and cities a better place. I also believe that you will be rewarded for your good work. That’s why I emphasize techniques that not only build your business, but better your community.

And who am I? I’m Peter Grantaire, and I built a successful business from almost nothing. The only investment capital I had was 150 bucks in my wallet and some of my grandfather’s old craftsman’s tools. I learned quickly that I wouldn’t make it on my own, and so I began to build networks with other local business people and community members; the result has been a successful business, many dear friends and colleagues, and a great deal of hard earned wisdom that I want to share with you.
